A very strong film, just like Contratiempo (which unfortunately I watched with friends and was too distracted). I will definitely give them both another review because these are mystery/thrillers of the highest level. It is quite a tiring film due to the sublime narrative, you have to keep your wits about you because it sometimes moves very quickly. And yet the premise is actually very simple: a corpse has disappeared from the morgue.

There are relatively few moments of peace, so that the film never collapses and the tension always remains at an excellent level. There are even some light horror elements here and there. You could argue about whether they really belong here, but it is certainly not overdone.

The script is incredibly strong and contains a number of twists that I really love as long as it fits together. Sometimes you have one twist too many, such as in Fincher's The Game, where the ultimate twist was a bit over the top. Here I didn't have that and the denouement really came as a complete surprise. Anyone who guesses this has already seen the film.

An absolute must for those who like films with a few twists and I think you will enjoy this if you also liked Contratiempo. They are both a bit Fincher-esque (The Game and also Gone Girl come to mind), have twists with flashbacks like in Saw and have that nice Spanish style.

Oriol is really a bit like the Hitchcock of this generation.

At least, that's what he really wants to be. Sometimes he succeeds (Contratiempo), but he can also go too far in the far-fetched plots, as here, especially towards the end and in Durante La Tormenta.

In any case, his films are always entertaining.
