When a bank robbery gets out of hand for a couple of violent criminals, they take an innocent man and woman hostage, who must fight for their lives. The man has to make sure that the robbers can find a safe haven in his car, while he himself is looking for someone who can help his sick child.

You know that strange feeling of satisfaction when you're just slapping a prostitute in Grand Theft Auto to get your own money back? Rabid Dogs (1974) is a similarly disgusting trip of misogyny, senseless violence and glorifying crime. The great thing is that the film takes place in the claustrophobic setting of a small car. You see the criminal bastards panting, sweating, getting worked up; increasingly aggressively enforcing their power over everything and everyone that ends up in their little kingdom. Victims and perpetrators are sweating like crazy, while the beautiful Italian natural beauty passes by their windows. Masterful misanthropic cinema, with a wry climax that spares nothing or anyone.

Hard, revealing, very violent and shamelessly misogynistic gangster story that mainly takes place in an old, claustrophobic Opel Rekord Caravan in which you can almost smell the sweaty smell of the gangsters while watching this film. Beautifully restored Blu-ray edition from Arrow Video with English subtitles.

Very benevolent and actually only occasionally fascinating and somewhat acceptable.
Sometimes expected important passages are not shown ( the actual subjugation of the two women in the underground car park, for example, or how the kidnapped woman got back into the car after her escape attempt , or did I watch a bad copy?
