What a crap movie. It's a funny found footage movie at first, but after about 1/4 of the movie it seems like the makers thought: shit, it was a found footage movie. The most moronic ways of filming are mentioned: someone is going to film a long dialogue in his rage, for a romantic set it seemed a good idea to shove a camera in each other's face all the time, there was just a cameraman present everywhere, and the telekinetic powers are mostly used to make crane shots. It's really special to see the twists and turns to stick to the found footage concept. The reason for this style is never explained, by the way, and towards the end of the film, news footage, and random security cameras are also added. added. Why? I have no idea.

fans of Marvel movies will love this, because superpower fantasies and teenagers. Unfortunately, the SFX are a lot worse here. Again, a strange choice by the makers to portray the effects so emphatically, knowing that they don't look too good: you can also just be suggestive, or give your film a funny wink, but no: the film takes itself dead serious and puts the SFX in full frame.

If you're looking for a science fiction movie, you've come to the wrong place. Science is hard to find and this is not enough food for thought either... A film that annoyed me stupidly.

The film starts out okay with a nice group of guys (I hadn't even recognized that young Jordan so quickly) and a bit of fun when they get to know their new powers. But then the film develops in a direction that has potential, but goes rather quickly. Certainly that boy who turns into a half psychopath does go through a very fast development. Then his home situation is very cheap psychology to explain that. Despite the fact that some action is added, the film became less and less interested in me. Visually okay, the low budget is not visible. 2.5*.

Near the house where they have been invited to a party, three friends come across a crater containing a mysterious rock. Shortly afterwards they appear to have special gifts that they initially use to play student-like pranks. They soon realize there are hardly any limits to their powers, but Andrew [Dane DeHaan] uses those powers to deal with the emotional damage done to him over the years. Well-constructed story credibly evolves from hilarious comedy to psychological SF drama thanks to a strong young cast and impressive special effects.
