Lilac Time plot

France during the First World War. A platoon of seven British pilots is stationed near a small French village nestled among fields of lavender. The untethered Jeanine Berthelot, niece of the widow Berthelot, takes care of these pilots. After an initial difficult contact with Jeanine, Captain Philip Blythe falls in love with her, but is too reluctant to tell her. However, on the morning of a dangerous mission, Philip still tells Jeanine that he is in love with her. During this mission, Philip is shot down and Jeanine searches for him diligently.
