Nice movie. Not average. Strong camera work and acting, a dreamy atmosphere and a very special story. I think Scarlett Johansson is a good choice for the voice. I think her voice sounds very pleasant and attractive. While watching I didn't know it was her voice and I see that as an advantage, because that meant I didn't see a face with it. The film is long, but kept me interested. 4*

Beautiful atmosphere, beautiful colorful film sets/apartments/office spaces and of course a Joaquin who, as usual, knows how to play a very strong role! I also thought Scarlett's voice turned out well, although I might have secretly preferred it a little more with Zooey Deschanel, but that's purely personal preference.

The concept is interesting, has some interfaces with Electric Dreams (1984), but fortunately has its own identity.
The director was apparently inspired by Woody Allen's Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989), although the name Woody Allen never came to mind when watching of this movie.

It's an interesting concept, a fairly fresh concept and a concept that you could basically go in any direction with and that's exactly why I thought this was anything but a masterpiece. The beginning is all still interesting but especially in the 2nd half I thought the film started to drag a bit more, a scene like the one with his ex wife for example is very strong and confrontational but at the same time these kinds of scenes are also but sparse in the film. It seems to play a bit on a safe tour and as soon as it gets a sharper edge, this is unfortunately only short-lived. In my opinion, the film could have been 20 minutes shorter.

What remains is still a film that is without a doubt worth watching, but unfortunately could have had a lot more potential in my opinion.
3*

Beautiful movie. Jonze creates a - as far as I'm concerned, it is not necessarily presented that way - dystopian but also realistic picture of the future, in the sense that in fact all contemporary trends are consistently and without being extended absurdly, in which the telephone or computer is even more position of personal assistant. During the film I had to think about Ex-Machina more than once and I also felt - although it is a very different type of film in many ways - the same subcutaneous tension while watching. I read comments here that it would be unbelievable; a relationship with an operating system/OS. I find it believable. Moreover, it also happens that people fall in love with a penpal without ever having seen them and/or having had physical contact. The film shows that contact with the ox is even more intimate than love correspondence. However, this is also the biggest downside for me. Especially when there are some cracks in the relationship, I can hardly imagine the heartache that this causes. Apparently I can sympathize with falling in love, but real attachment, a real love for less.
Phoenix is excellent and I also count this film as one of Johansson's better performances. The climax is also well thought out and also thought provoking. The soundtrack has been mentioned enough as a big plus. All in all, a very original and excellently done film across the board.
