"For the first time in her live she WANTED to be on the LEVEL with a man"
Fresh out of prison, Flicker Hayes decides to settle some old scores before fleeing New York. This is not appreciated by a number of gangsters, who put a price on his head. Meanwhile, in San Francisco, he meets the prostitute Rose, who heads south to get married. Flicker offers to travel with him so he can cross the border afterwards. He just doesn't realize that someone is on his trail and traveling after the couple.
