The Tenants plot
Henry Lesser is a writer struggling to finish his book. Then a new resident moves into his building, Willie Spearmint, a black writer with anti-Jewish leanings. Henry and Willie are artistic opposites and they don't get along as neighbors either. In addition, Willie's white girlfriend Irene and the landlord who would rather get rid of them both add to the tension.
