"Who do you trust?"

Little special.

It does have something, but mainly because of some cool directing points and good acting by most of the actors / actresses. But the rest of this movie is pretty slow set up, and I hope the book wasn't like that, otherwise I won't have to read it anymore unfortunately.

I'm already not a fan of Kidman, and this too I think is a substandard role. So exaggerated, so fake. Not a single humane decision, traits or behavior. Everything she shows here is so otherworldly to a point where I can actually find her guilty of over-acting.

Firth, however, was good again, and especially because it is also a difficult role for the rest. But his charms know how to drag him through it so that he doesn't feel alien for a moment. Actually, he's just human, and that's why it's striking that Kidman plays a character that I consider to be half-baked.

For the rest also an unnecessarily slow tempo and not too well built up tension. It was only towards the final that things started to pick up some steam, and in between the film it has some atmospheric, ghostly scenes. Those moments mainly keep the film going, because the rest is not very special unfortunately.

Thought it was a relatively boring movie with nice roles from Firth and Strong. Some successful visual moments, but a story that takes too many sidetracks to come across as intelligent and smart, but unfortunately leads to an unspectacular twist.

The acting is good. Colin plays well a man who makes you feel that something is not right. Nicole also does well as a confused mourner with no foothold, who doesn't know who to trust and who not.

But the story rattles.

It remains puzzling to the end why her husband had to divorce her. For the son. But why ? Did she do something to that son? And keeping a son away from his mother, does that make sense?

And did that man not look for his ex for years? She had just disappeared from the nursing home and he was okay with it? Creepy story.

Still a nice video.

The mystery continues nicely, after about 45 minutes you know how the fork is in the handle, but that should not spoil the fun.

I had a great time.
