Strange video.

It is horror, but it is not all that serious. Fairly light, a bit of romance, some Chinese horror and a little bit of drama. The mix is nice but sometimes lacks focus.

Visually very nice at times, although the colors are sometimes a bit too dark. The soundtrack also has something. Hui clearly has his own style which gives the film something extra. Nice mix of typical HK elements supplemented with something of his own.

The acting is also reasonable, small but funny cameo from Anthony Wong too, otherwise not really striking but then again it's all a bit too light-hearted.

Sometimes it goes in all directions, those expecting a typical horror film will really be disappointed, but as a standalone film it is a nice and pleasant snack.

I hope to see another really good film from Hui, but she certainly hasn't disappointed yet.

3.5*
