An exciting story, lastingly entertaining, with images of a Brazilian village, the jungle, rivers, caves, etc. It felt quite claustrophobic during the many underwater swimming in the caves.

The film has an increasingly creepy atmosphere, where it takes a long time before you know what it is actually about. Further on it turns out to be an indictment against the tourists , who come to take advantage of Brazilian people, raw materials, etc and therefore taking back some tourists by stealing their organs.
A strange denouement. Original, yes.

I thought it was well filmed, fine images (often in a dark environment), realistic injuries and a fairly inconspicuous but appropriate score. Also very nicely acted.

Fine.

In the period 2002 to 2006 Stockwell seemed to like exciting stories that take place in beautiful nature. Almost all of his films from his previously directed feature films seem to be set in beautiful nature. This Turistas also chooses a beautiful environment to tell his story.

It's all very entertaining, although it immediately lacks some tightness. Stockwell proved with Dark Tide that he did know how to handle tight directing, only he didn't yet have that talent or awareness with Turistas. At least it turns out. However, a problem that both films face is a too dark finale.

Turistas chooses a very special location for the final, for example, but is unable to visualize it clearly and mainly shows it dark. This way you have a pretty cool finale that you can't actually see and that lets the built-up tension go down.

Visually, Turistas meets expectations, but still lacks a bit of good substantive direction. The most beautiful pictures are nature itself and that is quite easy. Camera work could have been a little stronger and the tension arc could have been a little more subtle.

Furthermore, it is only a horror movie after an hour. Everything that takes place before that is mainly an adventure film that shows the bad and sometimes good points of being abroad. And now our heroes in Brazil are in pretty bad shape. Despite that, Turistas is not a horror film for a long time, but after an hour it immediately sets the tone by portraying a very raw horror scene very explicitly. I'm talking about stealing the organs.

Furthermore, the film often has a number of hard images, but unfortunately opts for a slightly too dark finale that can no longer create tension. Fortunately, the film is quite entertaining and it only lasts 96 minutes so you can get through it quickly. I recommend the unrated version to everyone because it's a bit harder.

Watched today, what starts as a beautiful holiday ends completely differently!

It starts with the bus accident, then it ripples along, but it gets more and more exciting and rough, what these tourists experience is not wrong, exciting scenes, some action and horror were in this.

Have seen something like this before, like in the movie "'Proof of Life'' with rebels, this movie has more horror-like elements in ala ''Hostel''.

Only downside were the dark scenes in the caves at the end, I couldn't quite see who was chasing the girl, was that her boyfriend or the villain... ? an exciting denouement!
