I really appreciate this kind of horror, making optimal use of atmosphere, shadows and colors. The overdubs are special, but sometimes they help to create the alienated and distant atmosphere, this film reminded me a bit of Le Locataire (The Tenant) by Roman Polanski a year earlier.

The scene of that blind man being bitten to death by his possessed dog is super strong and horror cinema at its best as far as I'm concerned! The climax at the end doesn't disappoint either, Helna Markos could have come straight out of a nightmare!

A film that so many years later still manages to surprise and holds the tension well, wonderful! A remake seems unnecessary to me, but unfortunately they thought differently in Hollywood. Easy money of course?

Seen tonight on the silver screen and ..... WOW!!! What a fantastic and wonderful horror movie Suspiria is.

After seeing the remake a month ago, it was time for the original. And what a viewing experience this has yielded! I was really into it from the very beginning and was sucked into the story. And the film never let go of me.

After finally seeing this masterpiece for the first time, I can only conclude that the remake is nowhere near this film. I already thought this was bad, but after seeing this relief from a film, it has become even worse in my opinion.

The power and mystique of the original are preserved and the story continues to focus to the core. No posturing and no fanciful subplots that don't matter. Not even at all.

Suspiria is a feast for eye and ear. Because the loud but irresistible soundtrack is truly one of the protagonists in this film and is used effectively where it is needed. The main theme will reverberate in my head for a pleasantly long time in the coming weeks.

Everything is right about this film and make Suspiria an irresistible and crazy but above all atmospheric horror film that, as far as I'm concerned, stands out far above many films in the same genre.

It doesn't matter that it is already noticeable that this film is a bit older. It just ensures that it enhances the atmosphere. And then we just take the effects and the perhaps somewhat unusual acting performances into the bargain. Incidentally, I did not find the acting nearly as mediocre as many think. It kind of fits in there somehow. It reinforces the overall picture.

Suspiria is mandatory horror food for every film lover who appreciates the genre but also films in general. A classic of great class!!

It remains open to interpretation, but since Rosemary's baby in the late 1960s, horror has been more widely appreciated. Movies like Carrie, The Exorcist, Jaws, Alien, The Omen and slasher movies like Halloween, Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Amityville Horror brought iconic horror films. In between, a Suspiria appears. At first sight a low budget B-movie, but ultimately a beautifully filmed colorful gothic film. You can see the influence it had on later films like The Shining.

The film shines in simplicity with theatrical acting, obvious fake blood, impressive colors, wonderfully exciting music and appropriate gore scenes. But also strong shots and beautiful decor.

Suspiria is a somewhat kitschy gothic horror film that certainly stands out. Maybe not for a large audience, but it doesn't want to be. I'm already a fan.
