Sewu Dino plot
Sri is a young woman living in poverty. She lives alone with her seriously ill father who requires expensive medical treatment. Sri's daily life consists of working for Yu Minah. However, the income from her job is not enough to cover her father's living expenses or medication. Finally, a new opportunity presents itself when the Atmodjo family offers Sri a job with a high salary. Sri is asked to work for the Atmodjo family. However, the reason is suspect, as is the type of job, which remains a mystery.

Very disappointing to see a film like Sewu Dino from director Kimo Stamboel, because in the past he was mainly known for his energetic approach. This film opts for more peace and drama, but the makers do take a lot of time to build up the tension. The slow start and the even slower middle section are therefore often tiring to sit through, especially when you consider that the finale does not exactly reward your patience. There is little wrong with the acting and the substantive concept is enjoyable, but without tension and/or memorable events, a running time of 121 minutes quickly becomes a real challenge. Stamboel knows how to handle the visual side well, but that doesn't make the entire event much more interesting to watch.
