After seven years, let's see if I can upgrade the 'misfire' of the past. Yes, I can, but it's still not a real winner unfortunately. Shiban plays with the age-old cat-and-mouse concept, but Rest Stop never wants to get really exciting.

The film opens with a couple on their way to LA accompanied by poorly chosen music. Soon Jesse is pleados, after which girlfriend decides to sit on her ass for an hour and a half while mister psychopath roams around. Jaimie Alexander is not an outstanding talent, but fits in a mediocre film like this in which you have to make one illogical choice after the other screaming.

It's a pity that some things don't show up. Thus, the mystery surrounding the driver is not captivating. They say he is not human, but is he a ghost like the cop? How else could he be behind Nicole at the end when the car had exploded? And Nicole(?) who in the end became invisible in the closet... no idea where to put all this. The mess has potential, but just isn't worked out well here.

The camper family was pretty useless, and not nearly as convincing as many of its genre counterparts. In terms of gore it is still sufficient, although this could have been a bit more to be able to speak of a big plus. I already mentioned Alexander a suitable actress for this dime-a-dozen movie, but Lawrence completely misses the point by continuing to rant about his last words. Just that already.

Not great, but it's a bit entertaining. You won't miss anything if you skip this movie. It's a shame that the potential isn't fully exploited.

Cat and mouse game horror that was not too bad for me and that also tries a bit mysteriously

to be. With a film like this that always has a hint of the B category,

a remarkably entertaining camera work. The film also has quite an atmosphere, and has

also a bit of crazy craziness like that family in that camper, for example, whose vehicle

at the end of the film also casually on the spot is clear as a suggestion of a

part/involvement in the multiple murders of the missing persons. The acting

I also thought it was not that bad, although in the long run it became irritating that the lead actress was a bit

cried too much. A dialogue of hers with an agent also lasted way too long, her

actions and behavior are not always credible, and the film eventually came to be a

bit left over as loose sand. Nevertheless, I thought this was a partly successful attempt by the director

to make it a fun movie, but without really leaving an impression.

hmm.

Not exactly the best movie in this genre. Rest Stop is one of those typical dirty and dirty horror movies with a harsh and raw tone. A tone that the film does not manage to live up to, because it can all be called quite tame. Maybe that's because this movie is from 2006.

Coming from a director who is active in the series world, but quality is scarce in this film. The run-up is boring and so are the main characters. As a final girl, Alexander never manages to be interesting or intriguing and falls into boring and safe tendencies.

Location is dirty enough further, but relatively ugly portrayed. Not the most interesting environment to look at for so long, but if the horror itself can offer a little more, it is quickly forgiven. The horror only comes into play late and when it finally comes it's limited to some quick torture and tame murders.

An environment like this should be much more striking. The violence is portrayed in a very limited way, with the exception of a few hard torture scenes. Other than that, it's just a car that occasionally tries to drive up to Alexander, but it misses all the threat. Boring design and boring execution.

Towards the finale there is finally some movement in the film, but it is actually too late to save the full result. This film hardly ever hits the gas pedal. For the enthusiasts there is a relatively explicit sex scene in the beginning but if that is all there is to enjoy in the first 25 minutes then it quickly ends. Boring film this, big disappointment because I was getting ready for a nice brutal film with a fast pace.
