I liked him!
Beautiful, sad and exciting story.

I personally found the very last part a disappointment.
It was special that there was once a ghost movie with a happy ending. no open end,
No dramatic "thought it was good, but still nice not-ending"..... but unfortunately.... those last few seconds were a downer for me...

I just love Nicholas Cage. And his genre of mystery movies too. In retrospect, this was quite a horror film, but okay, those are also good from time to time.

I always watch these kind of movies with a kind of itch, I want to know the end right away. And because a little boy is missing and several children, as a mother I immediately feel that fear.

The story went at a good pace, never boring or not feeling the urge to skip a part, so a big fine.

I think that's a disadvantage with these kinds of films. That the work towards the climax goes steadily and then suddenly the child is rescued, with the other two., and yup, they are back in this world, son has amnesia (nice after a year in hell) is a bit special .

All in all , Still a nice evening film that does not get boring . The “Pay the Ghost theory” was worked out well. Dad and son play Fair to fine. I liked Mom. 2.5 star.

Mediocre.

Die Cage knows how to choose his roles. There are hits and misses, but unfortunately this role is a miss. Well, Cage seems to pick every script he gets his hands on, so that must have been the case in Pay the Ghost as well. This was certainly not a high-quality script.

Despite this, in the Halloween setting, it starts out quite nice. It always has something, such an environment. A lot of exciting things are just not done with it. Nothing really wants to work in terms of horror unfortunately and that comes at the expense of a pretty funny story. A story that in the end it doesn't even know itself anymore.

Horror films are never believable, but Pay the Ghost is sometimes really close to the limits. However, I still want to turn a blind eye to it. Only there is little distraction in this film except for some scares, short images of evil spirits and a lot of mystery that doesn't have much substance.

Cage does a decent job, but these are just not really his kind of roles as far as I'm concerned. He's better as crazy Cage than serious Cage. The other crew members aren't special either and no character really knows how to be memorable, so there's nothing to really draw your attention to.

The horror doesn't want to be exciting and the scares are a bit bland. The CGI is also not good and the direction does not give too much to the film. Camera work is boring and the finale is over too quickly. The film lacks subtlety for the rest, everything is too busy so that the subcutaneous tension never really wants to get off the ground.

It also takes a little too long, but this was not a really tiring sit. It could have been a lot better and there was a lot more potential in it than this. If the horror had been worked out better, a part would have been forgiven, but now there is not too much to really praise the film unfortunately.
