Oddity plot
"Every murder lives on."
Ted is living in a remote country house that he is renovating when his wife Dani is brutally murdered. A year later, Ted lives with his new girlfriend Yana in the half-renovated house. She doesn't like living there and she believes Dani's ghost haunts her. Darcy, Dani's blind twin sister, then comes to visit. The self-proclaimed clairvoyant and collector of cursed objects is convinced there is more to her sister's murder and plans to take revenge.

Creepy horror film with a creepy atmosphere.
Ted and Dani live in a remote creepy mansion that they are renovating. One night, when Dani is home alone and has lost her car keys, there is a knock on the door and she gets a warning from one of Ted's patients. He works in a psychiatric hospital. This patient, Olin, warns her that someone has broken into her home and wants to help her. Then, almost a year later, it turns out that Dani was brutally murdered that night. Olin is the obvious culprit. Ted visits Dani's blind twin sister Darcy to check on her and to give her something special. She also more or less invites her to come over to his house and his new girlfriend. Darcy is a self-proclaimed psychic and collector of cursed objects. When she then comes by, she doesn't do it to see him again, but she is convinced that there is more behind her sister's murder and now she is out for revenge.
This film had to rely mainly on the atmosphere, because that was really creepy. There were also a few pretty good jump scares in it. The build-up is quite slow, but not annoying since that creepy atmosphere is present throughout the film. Once the sister is in the house and is alone with Ted's girlfriend, the atmosphere becomes even more tense. Because she doesn't come alone, she also brings a creepy wooden man with her. The actors did a great job too. I only realized later that both Darcy and Dani are played by the same actress. Unfortunately, it was clear to me pretty quickly who was really behind Dani's murder.
In short, a well put together horror film and for me the scariest of the year so far. (I'm a bit behind when it comes to horror films.)

Exciting and original thriller. Very atmospheric setting in a beautiful rustic house that for some reason has no electricity so everyone walks around with flashlights. It's been years since my wife woke up all night from nightmares after I forced her to watch one of my horror movies again. Great!

A bit unstable and above all unsatisfactory Irish horror film annex murder mystery. A number of terrifying scenes save the film from ruin, but plot and characters are barely captivating. Director Damian McCarthy clearly has talent, something he also showed in predecessor Caveat, but now he still has to find a strong script. Incidentally, the mangy rabbit-with-drums from Caveat has a very short but funny cameo here.
