This Euro-trash is pretty crazy, but that's exactly what we were waiting for!! Mass suicides under the influence of the Sun, oversexed pathologists, oversexed corpses, insane priests and more of that beauty from the seventies in Italy. Basically a crime thriller, but a lot more explicit, full of non-functional nudity, all kinds of filth, a plot full of idiotic situations and a Morricone soundtrack. They aren't made like this anymore!!

Autopsy actually starts quite well with a lot of suicides under the influence of the sun, a pathology student (Farmer) who gets creepy hallucinations of corpses with a fairly sleazy quality, a strange priest (Primus) who manages to show up everywhere, a concerned father who want to constantly keep an eye on his daughter (Farmer) and all kinds of bizarre situations that make the mystery and murder case seem impossible to predict. Ultimately, it is not just about a killer who starts killing because he/she has a certain quest that encourages him to commit those murders. The set-up is good, but it deteriorates somewhat as the film progresses. Beautiful locations in Florence and Rome, especially the last scene above the Piazza Navona is beautifully filmed. Perhaps this scene deserved an elaboration with more tension. Also mention the music of Ennio Morricone, who manages to capture the right atmosphere. 6.5/10
