Oh well, it wasn't too bad. This B-horror work mainly has to rely on the atmosphere and the design of the haunted house. The execution could have been better and the gore as well. You could see the ending coming from far away. The main clown did look scary. 5/10

In the film, the characters fall prey to scary goosebump moments. For the viewer, these moments are not too bad. The focus is on bloody violence and terror. Objects such as a saw, barbed wire and large cleavers are used. The characters die in a gruesome way and that is pleasant to watch, but at the same time it must be noted that the film does not go about it in an original way.
Lots of plagiarism. The film quotes and copies from Argento's Suspiria, from the work of Herschel Gordon Lewis and of course from James Wan's Saw series. The film is a bold homage to these examples and makes it rather easy for itself by drawing quite shamelessly from these works, instead of adding anything new or bringing something original.
The film is not very original. The film does not look very nice either. The low budget is obvious. The effects look cheap and every hint of dark atmosphere is missing. The actors play their roles clumsily and their fear and panic moments are not based on talented acting. I could not help it, but I even attributed parodic traits to the film now and then, while the film is supposed to be a real 'serious' splatter film.
Circus Kane is a mediocre B-Horror movie. You have to be a big fan of Trash to appreciate this movie.

Director Christopher Ray has reasonable cast members and film colleagues who know what to do with decoration, but unfortunately he only uses half of it. Fortunately, the concept shows potential, in which a number of noisy and varied characters have to try to survive in a haunted house attraction. Unfortunately, Ray's vision lacks the necessary creativity, which means that the situations in which the characters end up are not very interesting. The clownish threats and Tim Abell himself do not want to convince either, but fortunately the makers do come up with practical effects and enough pace. The attraction looks funny, but not atmospheric enough. Scott Beck and Bryan Woods did that much better two years later.
