Not wrong.

For about half a film, the film maintains the novelty value of the concept. A Christmas zombie musical is a pretty nice idea and the execution is also quite fresh, especially in the first half hour there are some creative ideas.

But after that it becomes more and more noticeable that the horror is a bit on the meager side. The props are fairly plastic and/or rubber, the zombies look a bit cheap and there isn't much gore. And the songs also stick a little too much in the Glee atmosphere. In the beginning it can still be justified (since the film does not yet reveal its full potential), but as the film progressed there was too little progression (except perhaps for the naughty Santa Claus song).

The film just lacks a bit of spice. Some more explicit horror, some darker humor, some meaner songs... it would have made it all a lot better. On the other hand, it is also difficult to be really negative about this film, because it is catchy enough and put together with enough love. But it could have been a bit more.

3.0*

A mix between Shaun of the Dead and Glee with absurd humor, fun songs and plenty of blood. It is a film that you rarely see, one of those Christmas zombie musicals. I'm a musical fan and I like horror comedies, so that's fine. The film radiates a lot of fun and because of the absurd approach and the dry humor, I was often pleasantly surprised. The split between genres probably means that not everyone will be able to enjoy this, but I do love it.

Christmas movie + musical + comedy + zombies = fantastic

I had never actually heard of it, but I gave it a try and thought it was really successful.

The songs were very catchy, including the occasional laugh and the occasional splash of blood. There was some story in it and it was still compelling (it certainly wasn't killing zombies all the time).

Very successful Christmas film!
