Director and writer Phil Wurtzel wrote the script for this wicked horror movie while he was in production at the Barn Theater in Augusta, Michigan, where the film was shot. The documentary follows the reopening of the theatre. Better known as the oldest summer stock theater in the United States. Shelby Young was hired for the lead role of Vivian Miller. This within 24 hours, before production started. With just a few hours of preparation, she arrived in Michigan for her first day of filming. The cast stayed at the Firekeepers Casino & Hotel in Battle Creek, Michigan. Frank Seals' character was originally only supposed to appear in the opening scene. However, Cary Elwes and Scott T. Whitesell got along so well that Elwes suggested filming a few more scenes with Whitesell.

The story is extremely boring, and the tension is hard to find. This slow film mainly relies on good acting performances. Despite everything, the characters are not fully developed, and their background history remains unclear in many cases.
