Animals with the Tollkeeper plot

The story begins in 1933 in the Utah desert. Three young French filmmakers find and film a tuba-playing toll clerk who has been waiting for a passing vehicle for 50 years. Unfortunately for him, there is no motorway at all. Half a century later in New York we meet Henry, the solitary taxi driver. After being ambushed, he takes the three Frenchmen mentioned earlier under his wing. The old rascals would like to visit their friend the toll clerk one last time. Here begins for the taximan a quest for the lost paradise, which is incarnated for him by Fatima, a remarkable lady who lives with her mother and little brother in the isolated Maryland countryside...
