Home Alone 4 is too much of a good thing and the last straw that made the bathroom was one of a kind for me. It doesn't get any better than that. Everything is once again thrown in a different direction and an attempt is made to make something of it again. This time the question is whether or not money buys happiness and it will not be five years ago that I looked out for all those beautiful things and expensive devices, but afterwards that was just cheap scoring because the rest falls there really is little to enjoy from this paltry attempt at success.

This fourth part has also been watched, but here the series really goes downhill. Again the same characters from the first two films, but played by different actors/actresses. This did not help the film. The story wasn't really exciting or special.

Luckily it wasn't such a long film, so he didn't get bored.

I was in a bit of a masochistic mood, I guess. Home Alone 4 is mainly a shameless cash-in to the name. It tries to be a sequel in a way, but instead of an amusingly grimaceous Joe Pesci and slightly less entertainingly grimacing Daniel Stern, we now get to see a crazy-mouth-pulling French Stewart. What a travesty, his girlfriend isn't much better. And not that I really like Macaulay Culkin as an actor, but he is kind of Daniel Day-Lewis compared to the terribly unbelievable Mike Weinberg. The only nice thing in the film is the butler who provides a few slightly comic moments, and perhaps Joanna Going. But it's just a really cheap, bland family comedy that's really nowhere funny or charming, let alone original, and in some ways (Weinberg and the bandits, cough) casting is really a mockery. Just look at the poster, then you know enough. 1.0*
