Berend Botje plot
Berend Botje is a tough girl with a lively imagination. She is the youngest member of the mysterious captain family Botje, which also consists of father Berend and grandfather Berend. The Bones' adventures are so special that no one believes they really happened. But Berend knows better. When the town falls under the spell of an unusual bird egg, she is convinced that it is a Knoetel Egg, which only opens on a hidden island. She decides to make the daring trip to the island herself. Because nothing is impossible for Berend!

A sweetly shot film, which I watched with great pleasure. A nice and imaginative story about a Berend bot and a boat, that is also the only similarity the film has with the well-known song.

Berend Botje [Doris Zuijderland] loves the exciting sea stories of her grandfather [Thomas Acda]. When grandpa tells her that Berend is named after a still seaworthy boat and gives her the keys, she doesn't hesitate for a moment. Together with best friend Teus [Justin Dos Santos], Berend chooses the open sea. They find a mysterious egg that is confiscated by the mayor [Zomayra Nouwen] when they return home so that she can show off with it. When Berend and Teus discover "the secret", they know what to do. An amusing adventure story for the little ones on paper is ruined by the wooden acting of the young cast and the slurring of the adults. Only Thomas Acda scores a pass mark.
