Wild Orchid plot
Sensationally beautiful lawyer Emily goes on a business trip with her sensual boss Claudia. Claudia introduces Emily to the intriguing and wealthy businessman James Wheeler. The innocent Emily soon becomes fascinated by this mysterious man. When she notices that he is also interested in her, she tries to exploit it. However, when she tries to seduce him, Wheeler reacts extremely stiff. He appears to be afraid of intimacy.

Bit laughable.
The plot that should serve as a coat rack for an erotic thriller comes to nothing and what's left is ... well, what's actually left?
Everything is so meaningless, the dialogues are flawless and the highlight of the film is a sex scene. Say no more.
Mickey Rourke and the beautiful Carré Otis have incredible chemistry in the last scene, but otherwise they try to act the worst. Everything seems so amateurish.
In the first half there is still a sultry atmosphere, with strange scenes. The music is no stranger to that. But if a thriller is supposed to be exciting, it failed miserably.

Wild Orchid is a time-bound film that is quite atmospheric at times. There is clearly cheating at 9.5 weeks but this fact does not make for a good film. The screenplay is an excuse to show some nakedness and actually this is only worth it at the end. Rourke and especially Otis act below average, but they make up for that in the last scene.
But as said before you have made it to the end you have to slog hard to get through all the unnecessary scenes. The dialogues often make you cry and the execution, especially by Rourke, is very routine and without inspiration. The only reason he probably participated is because of the closing scene.
