Just got to see it and I just don't know what to say. I can't find the words to describe this movie. Different from Primer, but still I see similarities. Visually quite beautiful at times, but I just don't know if I find this interesting, since I understand very little about it. It made me curious, that's for sure. I don't know...

Let it sink in for a while. I'm going safe at 3*, for now that feels right.

Not really brilliant the first time (yet), far from it, but very intriguing. Intuitively I entered this film with the 'goal' to experience what the film seems to want to convey through image, sound and the editing thereof/the interaction between them. I initially rated the plot as secondary, although I thought it was quite easy to follow, especially in the first hour. During the last half hour, Carruth's ways are much more difficult to understand, but that's also the best part of the film.

A pig farmer who records sounds in his spare time, a woman under hypnosis and a love story with the same woman. Three disjointed stories have been cut up, thrown into a grab bag and stitched together in seemingly random order and provided with sound effects and a moody score. Certain festival idiots loved this, I find it unbearably pretentious tinkering. Judge yourself.
