Not very bad. Sometimes it takes a bit long and the film gets a bit of a trance. There was also a well-known cast in this film including Angelina Jolie, Michael York and Rachael Leigh Cook. Those actors aren't bad. Gets a 3.5.

Fourth movie in the Angelina Jolie marathon and me her best yet until 1997! Entertaining mini series, but a bit clumsy.
It's all a bit too much of a good thing. It would have been better if they kept it to a few topics, but I don't know if it all followed each other at the time. So you had the war with the Mexicans, the Indians, the black slaves, the Yankees and then women's suffrage. In between the illnesses and childbed mortality. And despite the fact that the mini series lasts 3 hours, it all went quite quickly and only a short attention was paid to everything. Which means there is little depth and you go from moment to moment.
The first part when they are still kids (Georgia and Euphenia) was all like I said a bit clunky. Bad dialogues, B-movie like. With shocking things, but little emotion. But this got better and better and once Jolie and Gish come into the picture it gets a lot better. Well acted by them and by Delany anyway.
Despite the long running time, it didn't feel that way. It looks good and I had a good time. Not sure if I'll watch it again, but it's definitely worth checking out.
