"Life is how you live it... not how you spend it."

Then he learns that his grandfather is leaving him some "gifts", but those gifts, as Jason thinks, are not money or goods. Slowly he learns the gift of true wealth, friendship, family, labor, love, gratitude and much more.

Undoubtedly a well-intentioned film, but unfortunately crammed with clichés such that at times the friendship and tenderness that must emerge is not really convincingly felt.

Moderate, overall.

A sentimental and predictable film full of clichés with a moral message. It all feels very fake and I didn't find the acting really convincing either, especially the sick girl was quite over the top. I even got some gag tendencies here and there from this movie. Too sweet and too sweet.

Do you believe in fairy tales? Or do you dismiss them as unlikely or well-behaved or honey-sweet or gooey? As far as I'm concerned, that's all possible. But there may also be a truth in it. And that's here: It's not good to just throw everything into your lap, not even a big inheritance, you have to do something for it.

And that is (are) the assignment(s) that Jason receives from his late grandfather via video film, under the supervision of the executor. He is lucky enough to meet the right people on his roads.

If there are characters that stick with you such as Gus, Hamilton and Alexia, the 'show' is still stolen by Emily (Abigail Breslin).

A beautiful film that never gets old. For example, if I could give 3.3 stars, I would.
