Biographical film about the life of the famous French scientist Louis Pasteur. His colleagues taunt him and are convinced that his experiments are a waste of both time and money. He moves to the countryside where he can continue his investigations in peace. When the authorities discover that the sheep in the area where he lives are completely free of disease as a result of his experiments, it causes a stir at the Medical Academy, and Pasteur is eventually lauded by his former critics for his groundbreaking work.
