The New Age plot
"A shopping spree for the morally bankrupt."
Peter and Katherine live a rich and carefree existence: they own a house in Beverly Hills, an expensive car and valuable works of art. Until the day when Peter is more or less forced to resign and Katherine is ripped off by a client. Suddenly the beautiful life is over and they are without money. They come under the influence of a spiritual teacher who initiates them into the world of 'new age'. Sadomasochistic parties, a girlfriend's ritual suicide and other yuppie scenes mean that they increasingly end up in a marginal world.
