Steve Mundine (Lee Majors) is an enthusiastic young lawyer who, shortly after marrying Nella (Barbara Hershey), starts working at the law firm of his uncle Oman Hedgepath (Lee J. Cobb). Mundine is placed on the trial of LB Jones (Roscoe Lee Browne), an African-American undertaker, whose wife is said to be pregnant by Willie Joe Worth (Anthony Zerbe), a white police officer. Worth, however, takes the law into his own hands to save his reputation.
