The Doe Boy plot

Hunter Kirk (James Duval) is a Cherokee who suffers from a skin disease. All he wants is to grow up normal like everyone else. When he goes hunting with his father for the first and only time, he accidentally shoots a doe, disgracing his father and giving him the nickname "The Doe Boy". His grandfather takes care of him and teaches him all the skills he needs to know about hunting and killing.
