Ten Monologues from the Lives of the Serial Killers plot
Experimental film in which the phenomenon of serial killers is shed light on the basis of ten monologues. By means of a combination of authentic and fictional sound fragments, porn films and found film material, the film shows the context in which serial murders are committed. Director Ian Kerkhof does not try to understand the serial killers psychologically, but rather makes a statement about the uprooting and decay in contemporary society. Serial killers are symptomatic of the end of an era, according to Kerkhof; their lack of motives reflects our waning faith in politics, religion and philosophy.
