The young British nobleman Patrick is captured by Celts and forced into slavery. An apparition makes clear Patrick's mission: to spread the Christian faith in pagan Ireland. After his ordination to the priesthood, Patrick leaves for Ireland, but after the discovery of the archbishop's shady practices, he is threatened with excommunication.
