True story about two Italian emigrants who were on trial in 1921 for the murder of two guards during a robbery in Boston. The lawsuit was highly controversial at the time, as it was argued by some that the fact that the two were anarchists outweighed the actual evidence.

This tragic court drama touches on topics that are still alive today, although this poignant example of politicized justice that outraged the world dates back to the 1920s, during the period of the "red scare", the witch hunt for leftists.
The Italians of that time are almost the Muslims of today. People who hope to build a future in a new country but become frustrated that they fail and then become radicalized. The Italians became anarchists, or mafiosi, and the Muslims became extremists. On the other side are the Americans and their racism and prejudices, which is painfully brought to light in the trial being conducted against Sacco and Vanzetti.
The film is quite long and it is realistic Italian cinema, so the attention is not paid to the visual embellishments and camera tricks. I wasn't really familiar with this affair and the strong dialogues/monologues sometimes put my finger on the wound. Always nice when you pick up some quotes from a film. Pff 3? 3.5? It's somewhere in between. Then 3.5* because it did not leave me indifferent to the subject at all.
