Very special movie.

It took me a while afterwards before I could really place the film. I will admit that I did have to read a few things about it afterwards, but I did find it a very intriguing and very fascinating film throughout the entire running time.

From the opening scene in the bar, the mysterious atmosphere is immediately set with that fine voice-over and that simple, but beautiful piano tune. The film manages to maintain that mysterious, intriguing atmosphere for almost the entire film, but unfortunately not quite when Barber's tune appears at the end, among other things. For a moment the film loses some of its mysterious character and unfortunately gets a somewhat clichéd accent. Only an enlargement of a small point of criticism, because otherwise it is a damn atmospheric film.

Visually it is often really beautiful. Most of it has already been said, but a lot of beautiful, colorful stylization, stylish lighting and special editing gadgets. I also found the grainy image certainly of added value (at first I thought it was due to the quality of my DVD ).

Keep it at a small 4.5 * for now. Great movie, one that I will definitely watch again.

This film remains a very exciting one. One of the films that has, in a certain sense, fueled my passion for film. And so I carry with me a little bit of sentiment that I would like to visit again, as if it were an old friend, whom I would like to pay a valuable visit again.

For me, Reconstruction is like a jazz record, there is a bit of fascination in it for me because of its style, but also a bit of tranquility and the complexity provides an extra involvement.

It's a nice trip, with many beautiful warm love scenes. The opening of the film in the cafe remains a favorite somewhere. Alex's beautiful words and Aimée's reactions always make me feel very warm.

And yet it doesn't feel quite as incredible as it did 10 years ago with the first. On the one hand, the surprise is gone. It was still very unique back then. It was the right movie during my odyssey in the world of cinema.

And now 10 years later and several hundreds (or thousands) of movies later, it's still beautiful, but not the experience I had then.

However, I will continue to love this film, but have taken half off the perfect score I used to give it.

But this is going to remain that good old friend that I will continue to visit every now and then.

niethie I'm still grateful for the DVD!
