Metro Manila plot
"Desperate men take desperate measures."
Oscar Ramirez and his family flee their poor lives in the rice fields of the northern Philippines to look for a better future in the huge city of Manila. However, the bustling intensity of the capital quickly overwhelms them and they fall prey to the manipulations of the hardened locals. Oscar is lucky when he is offered a permanent job at a money transport company, where his supervisor, Ong, takes him under his wing. But soon he is confronted with his partner's dark motives.

Something different - a crime film set in the Philippines. In any case, the very versatile British director Sean Ellis makes something beautiful out of it, helped a lot by the beautiful couleur locale. The plot is also strong and surprising. The acting isn't exactly great, but the characters are sympathetic and well portrayed. The film is especially tense towards the end.
