I saw this movie right when it came out and thought it was a great movie. After I saw a commercial on the television, I went to watch the film again and watched and listened carefully for the 91 minutes and 32 seconds.

Too "American" or not. It's a good movie that makes you think. Whether you're left or right, in the case of the Americans Republican or Democrat, it doesn't matter. The discussions and arguments that appear in the film are really strong arguments.

What I find very unfortunate, and also the reason that I registered quickly on this site to leave a message, are the messages I have read here about this film. I don't know what kind of movies you watch, but the definition of a good movie isn't one that grabs your attention, moves you and/or makes you think and feel. I mean, look at some of the movies that are hitting theaters lately. "This is it" about Michael Jackson? Yes, he was and always will be the King of Pop and I loved his songs too, but to watch this movie in the cinema and not Lions of Lambs? Another example. I just read from one person that he thought this movie was worthless, because it had too few special effects and action scenes. Sorry, but you think that Steven Segal or Arnold Schwarzenegger should make another movie with TOO MUCH special effect and a lot of action scenes. Movies like this don't belong in the cinema. Of course I think that everyone should have their own opinion and also be allowed to give it out to the world. This is what I learned from the movie. Everyone has their own point of view and may or must even express it. Like those two students who appear in film. Even though I don't agree with them, they believed that the military was an option to turn the country into something better.

A top cast always has an edge for me, so check this one out. In the beginning it took some getting used to the story, because films about the war in Afghanistan are a bit far from my bed show for me. Because we are presented with three stories, two of which do have a direct link, the third story (the one with that teacher) did not seem to be directly related, but towards the end everything becomes clear. I didn't find the story of those soldiers at all interesting in the beginning, but once you know how it is (the last half hour), you felt involved and this became a strong piece.

The film has largely become a talk movie, but I actually didn't find it boring at all. The last half hour was very strong, as was the cast.

Still glad I saw this one, but nevertheless I thought one viewing was enough.

The film could be defined as a call to action for young people to be more involved, study citizenship sciences and learn a little more about war on terrorism.

Unfortunately, everything is presented in a rather pessimistic way, which would show the inadequacy of the media, politicians and the apathy of most Americans.

Overall story is astute and the actors are skilled, the point is that the dramatic form is too irritating in my opinion (and by that I mean with the American viewer). The director's ability is to debate the war debacle in Iraq in an engaging manner and with many ideas.

Actors deliver convincing performances but that is no surprise, given their talent, it is the film that sometimes leaves something to be desired but my rating is a 7!
