Las 13 Rosas plot
April 1, 1939. With the arrival of Franco's troops, the Civil War ends. Many Republicans fear bloody repression and flee the country, but others cannot or do not want to. This is the case for the young girls who are the main characters of the story. Franco promises that only those who have blood on their hands will be punished. Sixteen-year-old Carmen joined the youthful socialists but never used a gun. Blanca Brisac, daughter of a French Jew, is a Catholic, fights for justice and is the mother of a son who helped a musician, who was a communist militant. All undergo lengthy police interrogations and eventually end up in jail.
