Cool, eccentric film about an indolent man who is increasingly leading a zombistic existence. The concept is immediately reminiscent of something like Contracted, although this film is almost completely devoid of the usual horror bombast. You can see it as a zombie movie, but the film is not really aimed at greasy or juicy horror entertainment. Rather, it is a sketch of a man who is crumbling both physically and mentally, whose life gradually becomes more and more lifeless. The horror predicate can therefore mislead many viewers.

Appropriate bleached color palette; the look of the film seems - although in a beautiful way - to be as gloomy as the story itself. Furthermore, a beautiful, serene ambient soundtrack that substantially enhances the atmosphere. Could have been more prominent, especially given the somewhat contemplative character of the film. That's about the only marginal downside: the sometimes too slow pacing.

But otherwise hats off, strange but nice ending too, by the way. Another striking work that deserves much more attention. For now a big 3.5 *.

Another take on the zombie genre that would make Cronenberg lick his fingers. Gross, calm & chilly and excellent acting by Alberto Trujillo!

I don't know where I got it from, but I regularly had to A Ghost Story (Film, 2017), you know, that movie with that sheet that serves as a ghost, think. Perhaps because here too, as a viewer, you are assigned an extremely observing role of a creature that in principle arouses fear and horror.

Not here already. Meet Beto, a passive zombie, who walks around listlessly on the street and would rather not die on the spot (and stay). There is something humorous about it, although it is mostly tragic. Not a film for everyone, because many will consider this as boring. I found it fascinating.

Not a film even for sensitive viewers. On the half hour it gets really gross, especially if you're just eating something... At the end something like that passes by. Was he now masturbating? Then I immediately made the link with Swiss Army Man (Film, 2016), but there is certainly no question of humor here. Fantastic acting by Trujillo by the way. Fascinating!

Maybe a viewing tip for kappeuter , to be seen at Halley (2013) | MUBI
