Korea, 1951. The North Koreans, with the help of the Chinese, have launched a counteroffensive against American forces, which are forced to withdraw. Lieutenant Gibbs' platoon must cover the American soldiers. However, Gibbs is killed and when his successor, Sergeant Lonergan, is also shot dead, the command is in the hands of the young Corporal Denno. But Denno is against killing other people on principle just because they wear different uniforms, and he faces a huge dilemma.
