First Love, Last Rites plot

A universal drama takes place in a small fishing village in Louisiana: the rise and fall of an idyllic first love. Joey (Ribisi) and Sissy (Wagner) share a one-room apartment. In the endless and humid Louisiana summer they make love, talk about love and search for the identity of the other. Alienated from her divorced parents, Sissy still wants Joey to meet her father, Henry. Henry turns out to be a chatty Vietnam veteran with a fascination for Eastern culture.
