Fanny plot
Marius has left, for five years he will be at sea towards the Indian Ocean. His girlfriend Fanny, on the other hand, discovers that she is pregnant. She carefully considers her options: suicide, single mother, waiting for Marius or marrying Honoré Panisse who has a crush on her.
