Iván is a neat and refined elderly gentleman, a wealthy retired businessman who lives in a mansion in Lugano with his English wife Mari. When his wife is seriously ill and is admitted to the hospital in Budapest, he also decides to return to his homeland, albeit with mixed feelings because he had fled there ten years ago.
