The mayor's nephew is found murdered. At first glance, everything seems to point to a classic murder: a woman who kills her husband in order to pocket the fat insurance premium. Taylor Lewis (Patrick Bergin) isn't so sure and decides to take a closer look. In a previous case, he accused the wrong woman. Now he wants to make short work of the past and fully focus on the case to avoid another misstep. A beautiful suspect who crosses Taylor's path creates new problems. As the investigation progresses, Taylor becomes increasingly entangled in a web of corruption and intrigue.
