Cartouche, le Brigand Magnifique plot
"The robin hood of Paris"
The people of Paris loved him, for he stood up for the poor and had no pity for the rich. He scattered about him the gold that he took from the treasuries of the great of this world. His name was Cartouche. Cartouche rebels against an officer responsible for the death of his fiancée. From that moment on, he has only one goal: revenge. With a number of kindred spirits, he forms a gang of outlaws. One day, Cartouche and his men make fun of the regent and a high price is placed on the rebel's head. To further ridicule those in power, Cartouche kidnaps the young Juliette de La Reynie, a minister's betrothed.
