Boot Camp plot
"Every year troubled teens are sent away to change their lives. On this island they must fight to save them."
There are hundreds of education camps all over the world. They are all not monitored by the government. Most reach their goal in a respectable way. But some are hell on earth. Sophie is completely unhinged. She is totally unruly and kicks everything. Her parents are completely fed up with her. After going all out one night at a party hosted by her parents, she is suddenly kidnapped by a group of men. The next day she wakes up on a boat heading for her worst nightmare.

I can always appreciate a good concept and such a setting on an island in the South Pacific. Unfortunately, the effect is less good, so in the end there is not much to enjoy.
The film fluctuates a bit between the truthful presentation of a drama and a thriller, but does not seem to make a real choice. The script itself is too superficial to really dig into all the events and abuses about the re-education camps. As a thriller it is all too flat and predictable to make it exciting, although it must be said that it is all quite entertaining. The acting performances are not worldly but can still go on.
A reasonable film, which mainly gives an insight into the world of the re-education camps, but it is not really special at all.

Similar to Coldwater, although that film is better on all fronts. Significantly harder, more exciting and much more menacing. The doctor and guards come across as total sissies and the love affair just doesn't come across.
