I follow. I also found it all a bit too drawn out and too much palaver. The film starts slowly and actually stays that way. I certainly wouldn't call it boring. I was quite "in" the film. That is primarily due to the atmosphere and the technique that Soderbergh has crept into it. Fassbender also does his bit with a good performance.
But the film lacked some verve and action to really keep up. I fear that this will be forgotten very quickly. Solid, without a doubt.
And not that it was important, but all those abbreviations of those different departments or certain code words. You don't care much about that. You can follow the film, but that jargon doesn't help to really speak of a smooth film.

A nice looking trailer, a promising cast and an interesting plot. Even if this would not become a classic, it still had nice assets for a pleasant blockbuster on paper. The film also sets the necessary atmosphere in the beginning and the cast is quite pleasant. But then it seems as if that run-up takes a very long time and nothing actually happens.
The film is also more of a thriller than an action film. But it is not very surprising and the cast shines less than hoped. You are left hungry, also towards the denouement towards the end of the film. The film is quickly dealt with and you do not have the idea that much has happened. A lot of clichés and little creativity with at most a nice packaging.

Intriguing, occasionally exciting spy film about paranoia within a group of intelligence officers. David Koepp's script is not earth-shatteringly clever, but the strong dialogues and the solidly developed characters ensure an entertaining hour and a half. And the cast is excellent.
