Beyond Silence plot

Eva, a PhD student who is deaf, visits Dean Sandrine, with her younger sister Anna as interpreter. Eva wants to expose the abuse she experienced at the hands of her professor, but Sandrine dissuades her from taking action, warning that it is her word against his – and that she will never win. As Sandrine struggles to hide her own emotions, Eva begins to suspect that there is more at play.

Short film about how difficult it is to report sexually transgressive behavior and how powerless you can be in it. The deaf victim literally hears nothing, but the dean does not want to hear anything. Why that is the case soon becomes clear, the facial expressions are telling. Very well done.
