Babylon plot

"Vrolijke liefdesellende in de Jordaan"

The title is an ironic reference to the Sodom and Gomorrah statue that mainly exists among foreigners of the Dutch capital. In this case, the Tower of Babel is Amsterdam's Westertoren, which in the five parts of the film takes on four supporting roles and takes on a real leading role. The stories are, as it were, amorous confusions of tongues: there is an Italian, a South African, German, Frisian and French part. Cultural communication disorders in summery Amsterdam, with an emphasis on love and eroticism in which people, whether as residents or visitors, are confronted with specific Amsterdam habits and lifestyles.
