Colonel John Wister (Ian Hunter) is on leave in England from a mission with the English army in the desert region of Dubik. At home, he falls in love with Julia Ashton (Kay Francis). Julia has gone through a bad period in which her fiancé passed away. However, Wister manages to convince her to leave her love problems behind and marry him. Together they then return to Dubik and are introduced to his aide, Captain Denny Roark (Errol Flynn). Roark is a high-spirited young man who reminds Julia of her deceased fiancé. She soon falls in love with him. When their base comes under fire of war, Wister gradually becomes aware of the budding romance between his aide and his wife. And Roarke faces a tricky dilemma: should he remain loyal to his superior or let his love for her prevail.
