Anklaget plot
A young girl sues her father for sexual assault. The mother and father are shocked by this and it is clear from the start that it will be very difficult for this family to ever go through life together again. The lawsuit affects all three lives, and all three must try to separate logical thoughts from lies. The trust of the individual family members towards each other and towards the world is for the most part gone overnight.

It's terrifying to think of how you'd go about falsely accusing someone or… possibly putting on a show to impress in order to be recognized. In this case we are dealing with a very painful case... Swimming teacher Hendrik and his wife have been dealing with their adolescent daughter for several years now.... This one is difficult to reach. Could be anything of course. Until that phone call...
From that moment on, the core of the film becomes: How will that end... How will Hendrik deal with it and... of course; should you forgive such a child, or should you just let her sit in the institution and disinherit. I would do the latter...
But then finally the twist... A slap in the face. Hendrik who here really looks like a psychopath and turns the roles around
The film managed to drag me into the powerlessness and the coldness. You could almost say that this is a taste of Jagten. The atmosphere is gray and dark... and the prison scene can also be felt. A strong psychological portrait.

Strong film that resembles that other more famous Danish film Jagten. Experience being accused of sexual abuse with a minor. Your whole world is falling like a house of cards and so is Henrik. The guilt is very subtly and finely portrayed in the film. Also after the acquittal it remains interesting to follow how the outside world continues to judge about something they know nothing about. Where there's smoke there's fire, isn't there?
Also fascinating was the fact how the father had a hard time seeing his daughter again. I understand his wife's attitude, but I found it quite drastic and not very empathetic. On the other hand, it may be the only way to keep the family together. I don't know how I would react, although I might not be able to.
The ending was sobering and I didn't see it coming. He really had the impression that he was innocent. The confession itself I found a bit too easy and without any reason. But the very strong first hour and a half makes up for a lot. Beautiful!
